Forest biomass inventories and cost estimates are one of the key factors that can make or break a biomass energy project.  Current methods and tools for developing biomass supply estimates and costs have been troubled by the fact that most consulting firms are using traditional forestry cruising methods to make their biomass estimates, which can have margins of error which can be fatal for project success.  SCR Management is aware of these problems and we are working towards more robust biomass inventory solutions for project developers and forest managers.  A presentation made by SCR CEO Thomas Hobby at the 2010 Can Bio conference outlines these challenges.
